Teambuilding Events

These popular events are perfect for corporate clients, incentive groups, school or family reunions. We incorporate the best of our participation classes and challenges with fun, humor and friendly competition. Our chefs will masterfully and delightfully guide the competitors through rounds of competition in which they must prove their culinary skills, intellectual prowess and their ability to pull together as a cohesive unit. The competition can get tough, but the atmosphere always remains fun and humorous!

The Basic Premise:

The competition can get tough, but the atmosphere always remains fun and humorous.

Suggested Formats:

  • Cook-Off Challenge - Competitors are divided into equal teams and assigned a table with the same variety of ingredients. Each team must creatively work together to prepare a dish without a recipe. We can accommodate groups of twenty to thirty six at NOSOC and thirty seven to one hundred and twenty guests at the Riverview Room.
    $120.00 per person (Inclusive)
  • Cooking School Olympics - Competitors are divided into equal teams. The teams are guided through four rounds of competition including Cake Decorating, Drink Mixology; the Culinary Challenge and many more. We can accommodate groups of twenty to forty at NOSOC and forty one to one hundred and twenty guests at the Riverview Room.
    $130.00 per person (Inclusive)

(Prices include three challenges; additional challenges are available upon request for an additional fee).

Both Challenges include:

Open Self Serve bar for three hours of Abita Beer (a local brew), House Red & White Wine and Assorted Soft drinks. Upgrades to bar are available upon request. Gourmet station is for the full three hours. Gourmet station includes- Garlic Mashed Potatoes served with New Orleans Traditional Beef Debris, Chicken & Smoked Sausage Jambalaya, Amberjack Roberta Dip served with Fresh Corn Chips, Fresh Vegetable Tray served with Joe’s dip, Assorted Cheese Tray, Fresh Fruit Tray, Assorted Cookies & Bread Pudding. Aprons are also included.

The Reward:

One team will be declared a winner based on points accumulated throughout the Event. Points are based on: Presentation, Use of ingredients, Teamwork and Taste. The New Orleans School of Cooking can provide door prizes that will be awarded to the individuals with the best effort, biggest disaster and the no clue award.

Award Suggestions:

Winning Team- New Orleans School of Cooking chef hats or gift baskets Last Place Team- Cookbooks, they need it. Assorted Prizes- Mugs, Spice blends, oven mitts, and dozens of other items.

Off-Site Cooking Demonstrations, Hands on Classes or Challenges:

If you can’t come to us, we’ll come to you! The Convention Center, hotel meeting rooms and other private venues may provide a more convenient setting for your group. Contact the Special Events Office with the time and place, and we will arrange an affair they’ll never forget!
